lml,

While I do agree with many of your points I have a comment regarding this observation:
<<What we saw today was the market's surprise to the "unexpected" profitability problems Schroeder & Co. encountered this Q with products falling within its "core business.">>

Unexpected?? yes but to who? certainly it couldnt have been Mr Schroeder. Based on a shareholder letter written 2 months into the quarter I find it hard to believe that up until the last month he had no idea how this quarter was measuring up. This was alot more than a slight miss ...where talking 70%!!! To their shareholders? definitely, they could only go on that guidance which was provided them. This in what proved to be IMO a grossly inaccurate assessment of the company's prospects for this last quarter (and probably this quarter as well) coupled with the fact the he was selling off stock at this time gives me great pause.
Certainly were all here to make money but this has become a question of ethics. I had to ask myself whether or not this company deserves my investment..its about basic trust..would you loan your money to someone you didnt trust even if you thought it might be profitable?
