Clueless Jimbo - Re: "Take a Pentium II and add some new instructions and tweaks and that's a RAMP? Shouldn't be a big deal for Intel. Same 'ole core. "

Add 256 K L2 cache to the CPU and you have a Coppermine on a 0.18 micron process running at 600+ MHz.

New core/old core - choose your weapon.

Since Intel's "old core" wasn't broken, they didn't have to "fix it".

Unlike another CPU maker we all know whose "old core" simply ran out of steam.
