What benefit does MSFT get to mess up with AT&T? Microsoft is sitting on sums of cash beyond imagination without the slightest idea as to what to do with it except to just keep buying stuff related to the future of technology. I'm sure they were very happy to have their piece of the MSFT/Comcast/UMG/RR group which might have been a dominant force in internet delivery. Suddenly AT&T has smashed the dream. I could easily imagine MSFT forking over another few billion $ to help Comcast top T's offer. I wonder if we will see UMG trading above either offer price in expectation of an all out bidding war.
