Dennis,

Yeah.....The INS thing I think goes back a ways....and I think events like the one depicted in that story tend to work as an incentive for the INS to get the whole system on-line. I also assume that the smudged cards were ink and rolled....

I don't know how many units IDX has sold to the INS.....I know that it's alot....I think several orders have been placed and the equipment is installed as needed. I don't think this is a huge market for IDX, as these units are the under $1000 stuff. However......sales are sales, and IDX likes to have their equipment in high-profile applications. The government is and will be a large customer going forward.....Doing a good job now will help down the road.

One of the reasons I like IDX management so much is because of the attention they pay to the customers they already have. They seem to have alot of pride, and understand the value of a satisfied customer. Seeing large companies continue to specify IDX equipment in large system bids is evidence that the stratagy is working. You know that IDX just teamed up with NEC on a Texas deal that could be big. NEC has used DBII before, so I was very pleased to see this. NEC is a big player in large AFIS systems for law enforcement.

There are two webpages you need to see......I have to go get them.
I'll post them in just a few minutes.....
