No way MSFT will bid for UMG--I don't think they want to OWN the cable infrastructure, MSFT just wants them to utilize their tech, i.e. software, etc.

MFST's investment in CMCSA/K was to put some cash into upgrading the cable plant and roll out broadband cable. MSFT's ultimate agenda is--same story--to get everyone to use MSFT-developed tech. MSFT has their hand in every pot--recent investments in international cable cos like TCLI and UIHIA are case-in-point.
