CommSatMan:

Loral needs 600 mil to complete G*. They have stated they have any number of options and if need be Loral will pony up the bucks themselves.

Last year they sold stock, bought stock and peddled stock. (all very long and involved between the various G* companies) One nice detail you might have missed in your review of the thousands of posts was that when Loral bought some of the stock from G*'s current partners, it required half the money to go into an account to be used to buy phones and ground stations. That I took it as a very sound (and confident) business move.

The annual report has a broad overview of ground station completion times - I dont want to quote numbers from memory - but something like 50% of the planned coverage is at start up and the remainder is up by the end of the calendar year.

Bottom line is that Loral G* seem to have the business side of the equation down. They took it in the shorts with the launch schedule but have bounced back quite nicely. In a few months we will see how they handle the marketing. Wait a minute - that is one of the big strengths of G* - they dont have to do the marketing. The local service providers who know their customers the best, take care of that.

Buy now, Buy low and watch the profits grow.
