Another interesting post from the YAHOO/MRNT thread:

Killick is a top uk stockbroker

KILLIK Viewpoint: 23-APR-1999

Merant ( MRN , 137.5p ) rose 20% yesterday on the back of a positive trading statement. Growth for the year 2000 should be in mid to high teens, rising to 25-30% thereafter. Pre-tax margins are likely to be around 10-13% for the fiscal year 2000, rising to 15-20% thereafter. The main profits drivers will come from areas such as web development, e-business enablement and the information portal. This upbeat picture should dispel doubts in the market that have held back the shares. Slowing Y2K income is not a concern, and the growth prospects from e-business related sales should more than compensate this. The ratio of Market Cap/1999 pro-forma sales stands at only 1x. With the use of the internet set to see explosive growth, the shares trading at 9x prospective earnings (before any likely upgrades) are cheap. BUY.

**************

MRNT currently UP 13p or 9.45% on HUGE volume (2.1 mil) in UK today so far. Open gangbusters, fell back a little and has been regaining upswing over the last hour.
