I attended the two-day Investment Strategies Conference (open to the public) hosted by the Los Angeles Times last weekend. There were many well-known mutual fund managers and investment advisors there participating in various one-hour panels throughout the conference. One of the panels covered small cap investing, and you-know-who (GVW) was one of the four panelists. In the Q&A portion of that particular workshop, he was verbally attacked by several disgruntled investors for his funds' poor performance. He would only mumble an excuse to the effect that small cap stocks have been underperforming (duh!) and that the investors need to be patient. That didn't appease anyone. I thought one woman was going to physically attack him.
