Tradelite, subscriber growth is the issue for comparison but even that isn't the main point. ATT is now beating it's chest about being a "facilities based" one-stop shop for telecomm, data, and video. Sound familiar? It should since that's RCN's theme song. The "my bat, my ball" status that RCN, and now ATT, are pursuing is the key to future opportunities. In a way, it's better to compare RCN to ATT than to MediaOne! And of course, RCN is building with better technology (fiber vs. coax) to become the premier last mile "facilities-based" giant of tomorrow. The cake is in the oven, and it's only just begun to rise!
