Thank you for your post. I agree with you that it is hard to be the kind of decent father you want to be today. You can influence your children for only so long before TV and stupid people, or stupid people's children, takeover.

I believe the true problem is that a generation of people focus on happiness, instead of an internal sense of what is right and wrong. When you don't feel happy anymore there is no purpose or guidelines in how to react, other than destructively.

One of the best gifts children can give you, if you pay attention, is that they reaffirm your values by questioning them.

Focus on right and wrong in your own life. Sacrifice your own personal happiness for your own personal responsibility. You have a duty to society to be the kind of person you want your children to become.

What does this have to do with gold? Economies have collapsed in history after values collapse.
