Today, Bob Brinker devoted most of his show to a near non-stop
tirade against Alan Greenspan, whom Brinker acknowledges as "the
most powerful man in the world with Bill Clinton a very distant
second". Heretofore, Brinker has had the highest praise for
"Mr. Greenshades", as he calls him. Now, however, Brinker sees
little utility in Greenspan's insistent whining about the exuberance
of the market. Instead, Brinker advises Greenspan to announce,
with little fanfare, an increase in the margin requirement from its
present 50% to 80%. Brinker maintains that will rid the market
of the hyper-traders and speculators and, in the process, achieve
Greenspan's goal of curbing "irrational exuberance".
