I do not expect public servants to break the law to pursue my private concerns. That is ridiculous. I DO expect public servants to assist me in using the system to accomplish the public good. That is what the system is there for, and it is why we pay their salaries. I guarantee you if Anthony had found a willing hand at the Embassy, he would have gladly grasped it. I have to say I think you're projecting his experience into a personal criticism of yourself. "Why should his go first?" , you ask. How about "women and children first". Pretty simple. Orphans up front. They're the least able to care for themselves.
