For the record, I'm very bullish on the technology because there are so many potential benefactors. It increases the convergence of the PC and TV which would spur home computer sales (obvious benefactors), it increases the sales of other audio video components to take advantage of surround sound and higher definition video (obvious benefactors), and it increases the demand for hollywood libraries (obvious benefactors). That's a lot of winners and no big losers as far as I can tell. However, to reach its full potential you better be able to rent movies which I think is planned based on proposed joint marketing efforts by Sony and Blockbuster. All this and it's more economical.

One of the concerns raised in the article was the ability to technically deliver on the promise which I hope is non-issue.
