taxman: Gerstner is the CinC of the anti MSFT forces.... The PC is here to stay as it will become the center piece of all things automatic in the house. The PDA's and all the other mini appliances will all have some synch facility so they can check in with the home main frame (the PC) from time to time. Additionally our fingers will have to get a lot smaller for us to move away from the keyboard as we now know it. Voice input will never do as well as the typed input. Picture yourself orating before your PC. I don't think so. Also one will need the printer and scanner and other peripherals,TV,Digital Camera and other imaging devices that make the PC such a great thing. The PC is the new American must have appliance and it will be as common as the car is worldwide. It is the perfect termination of the internet. And every PC will need an O/S and that will be Windows.
