Dan Quayle has made more than "a few" bonehead statements. He can't open his mouth without making one. Is he the best and the brightest that the Republicans can offer? Is he even among them? Does someone spouting traditional Christian family values exempt them from needing to have an intellect and the ability to engage in meaningful/intelligent discourse? If so, the Republican party is in worse shape than imagined.

My criticism/contempt for the idea of Dan Quayle even being considered as presidential material has NOTHING to do with Bill Clinton. He isn't Presidential material either IMHO. I didn't vote for him. I think he's a scoundral and political animal (not our first in high office by any means, but disappointing nontheless). However, he isn't stupid. Dan Quayle is.
