I agree that Intel will easily be able to roll out boxes into data centers in a very cookie-cutter way. But that's the way the big monsters in the business - Sun, IBM, EDS - do it.

Intel's business advantage is that they don't have to pay themselves the gross margin on the hardware that outside customers do. Translates directly into cheap hardware -> higher ROI.

Throw in the coming chips / assembly for routers / switches, and most of the big ticket boxes for a data center are all Intel Inside (Inside Intel ? <g>).

I think the MUCH bigger question has to do with the OS the boxes run. Any clues welcome.
