VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 28, 1997--
Riosun (VSE:RSR., NASDAQ:RRSCF.) Riosun Resources Corporation wishes
to announce that it knows no valid reason why its shares have been
halted by the Vancouver Stock Exchange on Thursday, February 27,
1997, except the short explanation given by the Vancouver Stock
Exchange.

President John Loretto; C.F.O. H.W. (Bert) Harding; Director
Stephen Zacher; Corporate Secretary Irene Rohlsberger; and senior
consulting geologist Ron Stokes; and the company's legal counsel will
meet today with the Vancouver Stock Exchange to discuss this
unfortunate action.

The company would like to also report to its shareholders that
its exploration and sampling program in Madagascar has not in any way
been affected by the current events and are proceeding as planned.
