There is always something hidden and sneaky.>> Forensic accountants will tell you that is basically true. Given the nature of GAAP accounting, there are many places to dress up the financial statements with aggressiveness that belies the performance of the business. However, the issue is not whether the financials have some funniness in them. The issue is whether the red flags denote some material misrepresentation of the business.
