Stephen, Here's what Syquest reported as to when the Rocket technology would be deployed:

>FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 27, 1997-- SyQuest Technology Inc today announced a radically advanced removable cartridge storage technology -- the Rocket platform -- expected to be incorporated into certain future SyQuest products by year end.<

As to why there would be such a long delay, here is what their chairman said:

>Regarding the Rocket technology, Marinaro said: "We have
it as a product" but have chosen not to market it until after
certain computer makers provided feedback.<

What a bunch of bull. If Syquest was capable of quickly bringing this product to market, you know they would. It would be crazy to delay it for one minute with all the competition there is out there. I believe that Syquest is in such poor financial shape that they could not possibly move any sooner than this on introducing a new product. Just because they have it as a product, doesn't mean they are necessarily close to having it as a finished product. Just take a look at the SyJet. It took Syquest well over a year to ship the SyJet after they had it as "a product." For the time being, Syquest must continue to devote all its resources to ramping the SyJet in order to stay alive.

Regards - Dale
