There is a different story this time

You are right. Syquest did a poor job with the Syjet drives. But this time, they have representatives from IBM and Headway overlooking their shoulder. I am sure both companies would not want to see their component image tarnished in any way.

Besides consolidation in the tech industry is coming soon. No company will and can survive on its own. Mergers, alliances should become the norm in the tech industry sooner than later.

What happened to all the talk of the 2GB Jazz in this newsgroup?? It seems awfully quiet on the Jazz II. Iomegan engineers are probably scrapping it and developing something else to meet the DVD and Rocket announcement ( I like that name for a removable!!)

If I were Iomega, I would improve performance of the Jazz over Syjet ( Like add 1 MB of cache) and lower prices. I was at the Circuit City the other day and Iomega actually had the nerve to increase the price of the Jazz drive by $75.00, That was a shock.
