CMCSA is going to upgrade/lay their own cable plant

Precisely my point. If you gotta pay for the facilities, you might as well get the revenues undiluted. I know Comcast's plan very well although I haven't posted much on that thread.

1. AOL wouldn't get profitable broadband cable access. They would sit in a diluted position. There are much better ways of accomplishing the same for them without buying and diluting. It's cheaper to rent. They have their own canned presentation which makes them awkwardly positioned to the arrangement you mentioned.

2. AOL seems destined to become the king of the intermediate market. Nothing wrong with that. It's a full plate and it is going to surprise a lot of cable hounds. Cable is still years away in a form which we would like it. That's why I made the valuations comments in March. The market is anticipating a 10 year future. You're making a big mistake by frivolously discarding DSL. I was never supportive of it, but I always admitted it had a specialty role to play. The specialty role may actually dominate the intermediate years too as the reality of creating a broadband network dawns on builders.

I know all about clustering. It is part of the reason the MSOs have been such miserable failures. These games delude the players into believing they are doing something of substance. That's what happened to TCI when they couldn't see anything substantial about the Internet, but could see great potential in clustering another 100 channels.

You deserve what you call condescension if you don't explain what you mean. You still haven't stated what this sharing concept is. "Shareholders are doing it all the time"? Just who is sharing what with whom?
