Jim, What are you talking about? Do you actually believe that Syquest is responsible for "the severity of the downtrend in Iomega's stock"? Open your eyes, it is Syquest who has had suffered massive losses for six straight quarters due to Iomega's dominance. But wait, then you state that, "Syquest is passing them by with better/faster/bigger products." Yes, it's true, after a year's wait the SyJet is finally shipping. So what does Syquest have to say about its first full quarter of shipping the SyJet?

News Alert from Reuters 2/28/97: ...They (Syquest executives) also stressed that the company was in the middle of a "very challenging" transition and repeated warnings of lower revenues and heavier losses in its March quarter than in the first fiscal quarter to the end of December...

I especially liked your statement: "Syquest is dominating the shelf space at Fry's over Iomega." I can only guess that someone told you this because it is completely false. Iomega's products continue to dominate shelf space at Fry's.

Don't get suckered by Syquest's press releases, and remember that the specifications on a piece of paper are not what determines the winning product.
