emc has invested 1 billion in software development and is way ahead of anyone else.it would be very difficult in my opinion for anyone to catch up..even intc..its sort of like the position msft was in with respect to windows.. storage is BIG business..its no wonder all these heavy weights are trying to get into it..dell,intc, sunw..etc.. sue
