My thinking was that they might want to merge with a company who (1) already has an infrastructure in place and (2) happens to connect the continents (North America, Europe) where Qwest is building networks.

I had no idea the kind of financial status or infrastructure Qwest would have to contend with if they were to merge with GBLX.

How much would it cost Qwest to build its own transoceanic system? They've been spending tons of money to build their own network, perhaps they would want to hook up with someone who had already spent tons of money to build their network.

Shoot, maybe they could sell FRO to AT&T or someone like that; FRO's network would probably be superior to AT&T's existing network.
