t Jude Resources Ltd SJD
Shares issued 14,690,188 Jan 14 close $0.79
Mon 18 Jan 99 In the News John Kaiser, making his recommendations for 1999 in the Dec. 11, 1998 Bottom-Fishing Report, says St. Jude Resources is a top-priority buy at 92 cents. Mr. Kaiser's recommendation is at odds with his reserved comments
about the company. He notes that St. Jude has experienced three consecutive annual rallies in May and June, reaching highs of $8.55 in 1996, $6.35 in 1997 and a quick run to $2.90 in 1998. These spikes, he says, are followed by sharp declines as the exploration season comes to a close in Ghana. St. Jude's Hwini-Butre concession hosts high-grade gold zones "that never seem to yield any tonnage." Its 1998 focus was the Father Brown zone, about which the market became excited. Mr. Kaiser's advice is that while speculators can hope for a "similar stunt" in 1999, it is wiser to view St. Jude as a cash-rich junior that will flourish in a recovering market. The company has $14-million in its treasury.
