I agree that if AMD cannot produce the K6-3 or K7, the quality of their design will be kind of irrelevant.

This said, for Intel not to recognize the quality of these products would be a terrible mistake. I hope that Intel is a bit more serious about adequately recognizing the potential threat than most people on this thread seem to be.
Intel has been arrogant in the past; their anticipating the possibility (regardless of its likelihood) that AMD could be on target with K6-3 and K7 by pushing their Pentium III and Celeron roadmaps as a preemptive move reassures me a lot. I am happy they do not wait for 'evidence' as you put it. Because that would be too late.

Long INTC and bullish. But not bullish enough not to be very cautious about -and to respect- AMD.
