David,

<<<<is the support at 5 due to institutional buying?>>>>

No way to know that unless you personally know the money manager and he told you this. Perhaps educated speculation may lean toward this as a possible explanation, as Hal has laid out re: IATV

<<<<<<Along these same lines, is there a site on web that will chart size of trades, so one can get a sense of how many block trades there were?>>>>>

Try quote.com
It's delayed and it will stream size of trades but does not "archive" the trades so you have to constantly watch it. Sometimes I'll make a window at 4:00pm and check it out later to see end of day trades.

Here is a site for free level two Naz quotes.
tradescape.com No good for axc but, plug a high volume act like dell or such and try to watch the trades go by, pretty amazing.

<<<I sometimes get fills as part of larger trades>>>>> do you mean partial fills of your own order? Never heard of being part of another order? I may be a experienced seasoned investor in "internet time" but, a newbee wanabee in reality. Hope this helps.

Cheers,
digger
