As usual Morgan managed to put together a long string of words, dancing around a controversial issue, without shedding as much enlightenment as he shreds.

Summary:
"The work to migrate to Mac OS X isn't that daunting. Carbon anyone? Slots aren't going to be an issue in the future of digital video, but being QuickTime x.x and MPEG-4 friendly is."

"Avid, again, has never been very compatible with QuickTime."

"Final Cut Pro might not be everyone's ideal alternative to Avid, but that remains to be seen. And there are other alternatives. Apple intends to sell to all levels of the market."

Avid had a deal with Apple. It launched the company. Apple is now competing with Avid. Avid's knee jerk reaction, however well planned, is still just another case of sour grapes.

If they are unhappy with the relationship with Apple, it only means that they haven't had a taste of Microsoft's hospitality yet.
