I don't see how you couldn't do real time broadcast quality effects using Final Cut Pro on a quad G4 box. I think this eliminates AVIDs market segment (though Apple may not have the marketing muscle to get all of AVIDs customrs or clout)... Also, in other news, I earlier reported that Apple would spread FireWire across its line. While this is truem, expect the short term solution for portables to be PC Cards. This saves some cost, gives flexibility and allows all those CardBus complient G3s currently out there to get FireWire too. Dragonfly
