Libya: Gaddafi agreed to resume US investment and relations
Arabic News, April 23

Western sources in Cairo said today that a discussion has
commenced between the US and Libya through unofficial
diplomatic channels.

The sources said a meeting was convened between Libyan
leader Moammar Gaddafi and former US Undersecretary of
State Herman Cohen aimed at resuming relations between the
two countries.

The sources described the meeting between Gaddafi and Cohen
as a special one, aimed at learning the two sides' points of view
on the likelihood of surmounting hardships obstructing bilateral
relations between the two countries.

Gaddafi received Cohen in his tent in Syrte, where he spends
most of his time.

Sources said Gaddafi agreed to resume US investment in Libya
as well as to resume regular relations with the US.
