Has this interesting site gone dead? If so, what a great pity. If not, has anyone got views on SmurfitStone SSCC? I reckon its Z score was 0.38 at 12/31/98. Also Gaylord Container GCR has big debts in same industry. These companies have huge assets in form of many plants all over the place and they make commodity type products. Can they sort out the economics of their industry as they hope to - releasing enough cash from closures etc to reduce debt loads while, at the same time, generating operating efficiencies? Could they then force price increases through? Have they enough time to do all this even if it is possible?
