Perhaps as a Canadian my view of smaller ISP companies is tainted. I*Star incurred a fair amount of debt and issued a lot of shares to buy up a lot of smaller ISP's across Canada. It never was a healthy company and in the end it was bought by (also unhealthy) PsiNet for a song.

It's hard to know which way the ISP business will go. MSPG and some others have seemed wildly overvalued when I've looked at them. I still believe that the big utility companies have a competititive edge, long term. He who controls the pipe, has the goodies to win the ISP race. Just some thoughts.
