Ian, the horrible shooting incident's root cause was not the availability of guns. But the result of 35 years of liberalism which forces both parents to work, (because of super high tax rates) and removed all sense of right and wrong from our schools.
It's rather strange indeed that the same people who have spent their entire political life trying to remove the ten commandments form our schools, are now in front of every camera saying. Let's ALL pray for our children.
The moment we took away the teachers authority and started letting kids run our schools with their own morality, was the day we planted the seeds of tragedies such as this one.
Government schools have been on a 35 years liberal social experiment. It took that long to clearly see the evils of what liberalism did to the people of the former Soviet Union. Now we are witnessing the same destructive elements here. Just like in the former Soviet Union, in the 80's, liberals are in denial about how truly broken our government school system is today.
Charter schools and vouchers should be tried on a massive scale! We need to put the customers back in charge of education. That being the teachers, parents and kids. And get the far left wing wacked out liberal social experimenters out!
How many phony prayers will it take before left wing politicians recognize that which is staring them straight in the face. Removing the "true north" principles and teachings of honesty, integrity, courage, trust and trustworthiness from our schools, and creating a tax burden where each parent is forced to work is the root cause of these incidents.
Lowering the tax burden so that more parents can afford to spend time with their kids should be their vision. Not inventing a one-size fits all Hillary government day-care institution, where lock-key children, missing a moral center, search for answers and attention. We also need to give authority back to the teachers in the classroom and allow them to create an environment that fosters learning. Having simple dress codes would have removed "the trench coat" element. I can assure you in my day of public education, wearing trench coats and swass-stickers would NOT have been allowed! But today, we have the pathetic ACLU more worried about some 14 year olds rights then about the rights of parents to send their kids into a learning environment.
Sadly they got some attention in Denver the other day. I guess it wasn't the kind of attention the feeling but not thinking crowd predicted.
The first thing we should do is walk over to the National Education Building and lock the door! Simply locking the door to that horribly destructive political institution would be a step in the right direction. Then transfer the billions of dollars directly into the classroom! An education institution which has failed to deliver it's education goals by every metrics imaginable. Failed for nearly 40 years!!
