$3 1/2 cable internet play -- BVRTF
BVRTF owns 44% of NetGame (www.ngcable.com), a cable internet access provider in Israel and Europe.
The potential upside on this stock is 1000% to 2000%. On the American IPO markets, NetGame would fetch a valuation exceeding 1 billion.
But it gets better, as RT-SET, a 49.5% owned affiliate of BVRTF, could be a potential take out target by CSCO. CSCO made public statements in feb '99 about its intent to acquire Israeli tech companies in RT-SET's specific field.
IBM has also noticed the company, forming a joint venture with NetGame to install cable internet infrastructure in various Israeli communities.
Nexus Telocation Systems Ltd. (NASDAQ: NXUSF), owned 33% by BVRTF, is emerging as a hot play on GPS and anti-theft security technology. Nexus offers affordable ways to track the location of both personnel and non-stationary assets anywhere in the world. The potential applications for such technology are extremely wide, and could eventually cover anything that anyone could ever steal or lose.
BrightCom Technologies Ltd, owned 40% by BVRTF, i know little about thus far. But from what i do know, it seems apparent they will be an immediate player in in portable Voice-over-IP devices. Eventually, such a role could result in a deal with 3Com to develop VoIP chips for its hand held Palm Pilot device.
