a-bomb i'd have to agree that is a real good analogy
the tech needed to do mpeg2 is incredible.but sad to say i think
there's a lot more co.s that are far more advanced in the development
process than is quoted here. there's a lot of major co.s ready to
this winter with full mpeg2 decode capabilities .this cuts into a HUGE
part of cube's turf but it's not even close to a knockout blow
because of cube's awesome mpeg2 encoder chip-set.no-one else has
it and yeah they've OWNED the niche for at least a year.
unfortunately ,i think on the hi-video production end
(pro editing) i think most co.'s are dying for any alternative
to cube's multi mpeg2 encode chipset with extra costs for
microcode. it doesn't matter who has the competing mpeg2 encoder
design as long as they license the production out to a fab co.
the flood of mpeg2 chip to market is so close. cube as any
past monopoly is bound to be hurt on its margins.

does it really matter if your enemy only has "primitive"
a-bomb tech? i've heard the a-bomb hurts like heck and if the
blast doesn't get you the radiation is worse to live thru.better to
get out and take your losses.
DVD changes everything in 1997. all rules are out the window.
cube will benefit greatly no doubt but they probably won't
keep as hi a p.e.
