Good question. I know it popped up about 6 months ago, and one system that I know of died, but this one in particularly nasty on the 26th of April. (like the article mentioned...same day as the Chernobyl disaster)

In a way. The one I did work on needed a new motherboard since the BIOS was soldered on the board unlike the more popular socketed variety. The hard-drive was intact however. If a few do land on my desk on Tuesday/Wednesday I might have to get a replacement BIOS chip from the board manufacturer.
