wily, thanks for the heads up. i bookmarked that site and plan to have fun cruisin' it later today. and also, thanks for the install to uninstall idea. i'll get back to you on whether that works. i may end up with twice as much stuff as i had before, but no one else has proffered any ideas! btw, i was having major probs entering posts on SI a few minutes back. i had to type 'em in a word file and post 'em here. it finally just would not allow me to type a single word, so i closed my browser and reopened it and it's cool now. anyone else experience that? there's a parade in town today. think i'll pull myself away from this pc for awhile! :) mark
