Colin, i want to do this right.

I have searched posts on this board, yet have a questions about what my next step should be.

As of 7/98 i consider myself a full time trader, this is my only source of income. I am on average to make over 150 "short term" stock and option trades for Jan 99-Jan 00.

I want to file as a Trader in 1999.

I work out of my home (rental) and have significant expenses from rent, electronic equipment and "pay for" investors resources which will increase with Level II feed and new computer equipment.

Can you suggest a good resource such as comprehensive book that can guide my set up as a business filing taxes as a Trader? Should i seek out a tax advisor also? Are there tax advisors that specialize their services for Traders?

I do my own taxes. I enjoy doing my own record keeping. Can you suggest a computer program for the MAC that will help me automate my tax filing process as a Trader?

Thanks,

Michael
