You're full of crap, Michael. Kids don't kill kids because they have guns, guns just make the killing a lot easier. Guns are way too easy to get, the gun nuts have this new dodge of gun "shows" which are glorified firearm flea markets exempted from most of our existing weak regulations. Because they're just for "collectors" or something.
And I'd say exactly the same regardless of who was President. You aren't going to find anybody saying this happened because of "conservative" policies, even though by most indications Littleton looks to be a pretty rock-ribbed Republican place. The NRA death grip on politics crosses party lines plenty often.
Finally, I've been fairly fearless about taking on hot button topics, but guns is something I don't usually bring up. It's so pointless, nothing much is going to be done, regardless. 38k dead a year, pretty much the same as die in car accidents, but we're plenty willing to do many things to make cars safer. Guns, it's totally different, what we need, apparently, is right to carry concealed weapons laws. What we need is more guns, not less! A well regulated militia, indeed. |
