My own take on this "3D" question:
Shockwave (very old news) and Flash (newer) are things everyone knows about. MACR has long been in the forefront with this stuff (though you coulda been, and I was once, crucified owning the stock). But is it what most people would really consider "3D"? Not me.
It appears to be a philological question, in a sense. MODA, for example, claims to have "3D" websites. Take a look. I find nothing at any one of 'em that I'd consider genuine interactive 3D stuff. I believe this is what DMAX is saying on the RB thread: the technology just isn't there yet. That doesn't prevent some companies from using the terminology.
MODA does, apparently, have proprietary software, very technical stuff, for the fashion industry that is, in some way, genuinely 3D. But, um, sorry, you have to wear the special glasses to use it.... A point DMAX brought up.
Not what most people want to do. |
