i recall reading a post on the dream thread some months back where a fellow said he hadn't turn his puter off for 5 years!! imagine that? <gg>

i find that running my pc for more than a few days without rebooting really begins to take a toll on the % of free system resources. i guess that even without a memory leak bug like msie used to have, there are some applications that just do not give back their resources when they are turned off.

i will sometimes let it run for 2-3 days, depending on whether i've restarted periodically because i've changed settings or installed something. but my main focus is usually on system resources. i'd probably come down on the side of letting it run longer if it weren't for the gradual depletion of resources.

:)
