Amos:" I'm not following him, but I don't think he play Bio's (and sure not small as VVUS)."

Vinik played VVUS, he registered his 5%. It seems that he was instrumental in moving it to $42 squeezing shorts.

Vinik had an early exit about half his shares in the high $30s, but it seems that he was also caught with big loss at some point (from $22 to $26 about his entry point) when the big drop from $22 to $12 in one day (plant problems claimed Leland the Chief Executioner Officer).
Probably Vinik ended roughly even, but who knows. Vinik was involved in somewhat similar events with Converse. Strange that he goes in the stock moves for a while, and then catastrophe follows.

Vivus was not small enough for Vinik, vini, vidi, vinci.
