I have received a confirmation before the open from Datek on one occasion. It was the day before YHOO's q498 earnings report and I entered a sell and was filled about 3 or 4 minutes before the open. Never happened before or since.

RE: DAteks performance of late. Week before last they sucked so bad I almost pulled the plug. Last week, they were close to perfect. They seemed to actually get faster as the week went on. I used both 7 and 17, and did test cancels each morning. Friday a test cancel at 5 minutes after the open confirmed itself as quickly as I could move from the cancel button to the activity page. I do from 2 to 6 round turns per day and every trade confirmed as fast as I could move to the activity page. Would every Datek customer who reads this please knock on wood. (now)

Hope it keeps up.

(Anyone who does a test cancel might consider posting the results here so that everyone and his dog is not doing it and increasing server load.)
