sheep. I just saw a critique of a lady's portfolio done over on CBS and they declared her reit fund "too risky"....ROFL
: ya, I love those reits. I bought a lot at the end of the year and am overweight in them and cash and microcap value, where I can find hundreds of incredibly well-managed small companies selling below book value. IMHO the internet profits will migrate there when the bubble bursts....reminds me of 1982 when nobody wanted to own stocks, and in 1986 when nobody wanted to own tech stocks.
omega has, had, about a 50M market cap..buffet can't buy much because there's not much to buy. Health-care real estate is not subject to the deflationary spiral about to hit drugs...people will not buy rooms for nursing home or critical-care services, they rent, and pay dearly. I used to own property in a retirement town..people do not want to buy, they are usually living off the proceeds of a house they sold and don't want the investment or the obligations of ownership so they rent. So I kinda think the global expansion of reits is in its infancy.
RFI owns the WB stuff...it is painless to hold for dividend income.
