Hi Judy,
Yes, I am one of your neighbours from the great white north.
I am on the west coast.

The TSE is actually quite tame in comparison to the NASDAQ.
It has mostly mature resource stocks so they mostly move
with the economic cycle or on news. There are only a handful
of quality high tech companies to invest or trade in
on that exchange. The VSE and the ASE are another story
though. It is like the wild, wild west there. The ASE has
real life cowboys too. Both places are not for the inexperienced
and the weak of heart. Only the insiders seem to make
any money there consistently. It is mostly mining stocks and oil
and gas drillers. I have found it is easier to
find quality companies on the NASDAQ and the NYSE. There are more
well managed companies in a wider range of industries to choose from on those two exchanges.
All exchanges have their share of scams though.

I am sorry to hear you are one of the dis-satisfied
USRX shareholders. I think I agree with Tom Trader
though that COMS may be oversold here. I know that most
USRX shareholder think they are getting robbed, but I
am more inclined to think that the management of USRX
thinks COMS is undervalued and the conversion rate
for the merger reflects that belief. It seems like
a good match as there is very little product overlap
as far as I can tell I think USRX needs the 350
million in cash COMS has right now. USRX only have
about 18 million in cash according to their last 10-Q
and they are about to get lots of competition
from Rockwell and the supporters of that standard
such as MOT. They could raise money through a share
issue but that would dilute earnings or they could borrow it
which is expensive. So the merge might be the best thing
in the long run. The worst that could happen is that the merge is
called off and the share price of both companies rally short
term despite the penalties. I think COMS might qualify as
one of your unloved dogs. I don't have a position in either
stock nor have I followed them that closely so let me know
if you see any flaws in this thinking.

Regards Harry
