I am actually a physician in Boston, and have had many patients on intra aortic ballon pumps...what I do not understand is how EECP cause persistent effects after the treatment is over...is there some humoral effect? Why should EECP stimualte collateralization? I think until there is a bit more science, the procedure will always have trouble gaining acceptance...
