CBurnett,

Who would have thought that Bid.Com would be a teaching case in Management 681: Electronic Commerce, FALL 1998 at Georgetown University School of Business?

I can think of a few posters who might want to enroll...

Part of the assignment:

Technology Brief
As above, this in individual work that is worth 100 points, or 16.6% of your grade. Your technology brief should take an emerging WWW technology and explain how it will enable new business processes. You should search around and find something that is really "hot": this means that it has not yet been widely adopted, although it may be on the verge of wide adoption, and it has good prospects. This might also be a technology that is fairly big now, but will take on much greater importance in the future. Explain how it works, what prerequisites are needed to use it, how likely it is to become a standard, to what extent it has been adopted now, and how expensive it is. You should then explain the business strategies and processes that this technology will enable. I am willing to consider web technology-related management issues if you can make a case that they are being addressed in a specific product or methodology that is being sold in a discrete form.
