Some of the muggings of relatively prominent white Washingtonians by poor black people do reach us all the way out here in California, as I have read about them over the years. So it is hard to imagine that the poor never to to the fancy neighborhoods.

And, interestingly enough, the Washington police are SHOOTING criminal suspects in larger ratios than anywhere else in the nation, including New York. Could this be an effort to make sure that white people feel safe there?
