Tom's assertions that there is no y2k issue may not be resolved until after the June quarter.

I'd add that it will be the June quarter of next year. Everybody in the enterprise software industry having a revenue disappointment is using Y2k as a reason for poor performance. When the year is over, there will be either more Y2k remedial issues to blame poor performance on or there will be a six-month lag between solving the Y2k issues and deciding how to deploy cash spending by IT departments.

Either way, I expect the enterprise-wide software companies having problems will blame it on something other than looking in the mirror. Until the wheat is truly separated from the chaffe, I expect fear, uncertainty and doubt to remain on the part of the investors.
