Vendit:

Thanks for the link. How are you?
I have been busy this weekend. Yes I am watching AOL. It has closed above 10day EMA and MACD is about to touch or cross the green line and start next upward move.
I think tomorrow's up move with one or two big news will make it a decisive
3 close above the 10EMA and crossing or MACD to start the next uptrend. Since this week is a key week for Internet earnings it will be interesting. I think Tuesday's beating of Analysts expectations handsomely with a strong revenue growth will propel it to a new high. But my
intutive fear is that only two things will keep the stock moving higher after next week and kill "sell-on-news" theory:
1) Very significant aliance or buyout
2) Split news.
I think Steve will have something in his packet and may not
announce split. If AOL doesn't split market will sell off for the next
buying opportunity. But IMHO there will be big buyout or merger in near term as that may involve some dilutive effect on AOL floats and hence no split. Keep in mind that AOL should have to make moves very fast as the "pooling of interest" will be unplugged by 2001. As a loyal merging strategy AOL may announce split after merger so that everybody will be happy.
I will watch this very carefully.
Let us hope for a good week.
